Orange

 Theme

The Orange theme is all about communication and the importance of communication following periods of crisis and during times of transition and change. It seeks to address new protocols and rules, consider the guidance required and develop ideas about how to support positive communication in schools for pupils and staff.

Support guidelines through modelling videos

videos of staff and/or children following protocols could be helpful for younger children or children who require visual resources to help them to understand and adhere to guidelines

03/

Children and young people may want to share stories more than once

allow time for pupils to repeat stories and expereinces if they feel the need to - this may be helping them to process their expereinces

04/

Be open and honest

if you don't know the answer to a child or young person's question be clear about this. Be honest and truthful wherever possible

04/

Be consistent in communication

where possible establish scripts and ways of responding to questions that can be as consistent as possible across members of staff to help children and young people to feel secure and understand changes and guidelines
